Families are invited to sign up for an exciting visit to the Junípero Serra Museum in Presidio Park! This interactive experience brings San Diego’s history to life. The San Diego Before Statehood program lets children explore real Kumeyaay artifacts, giving them a hands-on look at how the Kumeyaay people lived. Then, they’ll head outside to walk the land where the original Presidio once stood and imagine what life was like long ago. The guided visit adds even more adventure, with stories and visuals that make history fun and engaging for all ages.

Join us on an exciting expedition Whale Watching at Newport Beach! We will depart from Newport Harbor. This excursion is approximately 2 hours long. There will be a Marine Science Naturalist onboard our boat to answer student questions, enrich the learning experience, and pass around real marine mammal artifacts. Meet for check in between 1:30-2:00. Parents must stay on site with their child throughout the event; dropping off and leaving is not permitted. Don't forget to bring your cameras to capture these magical moments out on the water!

High school seniors are going on their last field trip to Sea World! It will be a fun activity for all seniors. Admission and meals are included for seniors.
Transportation will be provided at 8:45am from 4035 Beyer Blvd., San Ysidro, CA 92173 for students who might need it. Parents are welcome to drive and drop off students at 9:30am at SeaWorld.
There will be a mandatory assembly for parents and students with tickets to review important information.

Join us for a fun afternoon of painting at Eisenhower Park in Seal Beach! Learn how to create stunning watercolor landscapes from an experienced art instructor. This event will run from 4:00 PM to approximately 5:30 PM. During this time, you’ll learn painting techniques, practice your new skills, and let your artwork dry, with all materials provided.

A school tour includes the Crafts & Hobbies Building, including the dazzling Coachella Valley Model Railroaders exhibit. The Gem & Mineral Building, hosted by the San Gorgonio Mineral & Gem Society. The Exhibits Building, featuring Fine Arts, Photography, Youth Entries, & interactive STEM activities. The Taj Mahal, home to our Featured Date exhibits, Cooking with Dates stage and other agricultural displays, Livestock Barns, showcasing youth animal projects including goats, sheep, pigs, and cattle and exciting shows: The Pig Races, The Science Show, and the Stunt Dog Show.

Transportation will be provided at 8:30am from the Beyer Blvd. Trolley Station (4035 Beyer Blvd., San Ysidro, CA 92173) for students who need it. Parents are welcome to drop off students at 9:00am or stay with the students at Southwestern College (900 Otay Lakes Rd, Chula Vista, CA 91910).
Campus tour and presentation will be from 9:30am-11:30am. School will provide lunch for students at 11:45am.

The BEST Academy National Honor Society will be taking part in a Beach Cleanup . As part of NHS, members agree to devote time to serving their community. In cleaning the beach, they hope to beautify San Diego.

A living, breathing work of art, the Japanese Friendship Garden and Museum (JFGM) represents the bond of friendship between San Diego and their sister city, Yokohama. The Holiday Market is returning for its fourth year to the newly renovated Gallagher Square at Petco Park! Inside the market, you’ll be transported to a winter wonderland. BEST Academy students are invited to attend our annual field trip to the San Diego Zoo.
This year we have a few options for our families.
Option 1- Transportation for students will be provided at 8:00am from 4184 Beyer Blvd, San Ysidro, CA 92173. Students have to ride the bus to the zoo in the morning and must return on the bus in the afternoon. Teachers will chaperone these students.
Option 2- One parent per family must stay on site with their children throughout the field trip; dropping off and leaving is not permitted if you are choosing this option. The school will pay for one (1) parent ticket per family.
There will be a mandatory assembly where will review important information for parents and students with tickets. A separate email will be sent with the assembly date, time and zoom link.

If it hops, wiggles, crawls, or gives your mom the chills you'll find it at The Reptile Zoo. Fish, amphibians, and arachnids are also on display. It contains the pet store Prehistoric Pets, which sells items targeted towards reptile owners. Almost 200,000 people have visited the zoo since its founding. Our students are going to The Old Globe to watch "Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas!" It is a wonderful, whimsical musical based upon the classic Dr. Seuss book.
Register soon, as we have limited tickets available. Registration will open on Monday, November 6 at 9:00am and will close on Wednesday, November 15 at 2:00pm.
