MS STEM Cape May Trip 2025

Our trip will begin with a beach clean-up, during which students will work together to help preserve the shoreline and learn about the impact of pollution on marine ecosystems. After our cleanup, we’ll enjoy lunch on the beach, taking in the fresh ocean air and scenic views.
The adventure continues with a whale, dolphin, and bird boat tour through the Cape May Whale Watch Research Center, where students will have the opportunity to observe marine life in its natural habitat. Guided by expert naturalists, we’ll learn about the diverse species that call the waters of Cape May home. We will end our tour around 4:30 p.m., returning to PPACS around 6:30 p.m.

Confirmed Democratic candidates include incumbent District Attorney Larry Krasner and Philadelphia Judge Patrick Dugan. Moderators are Lauren Cristella, President and CEO of the Committee of Seventy, and Catherine Hicks, SUN Publisher and President of the Philadelphia Branch NAACP. We’re rolling into a day of fun! On March 11, 2025, eligible 7th graders will head to Philly Skateplex for an exciting Roller Skating Field Trip that mixes fun, learning, and rewards. For $30, the trip includes transportation, roller skate rental and rink time, a STEM lesson connecting science to skating, lunch, and arcade game credits.

Our 7th grade STEM class will be attending a field trip to the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. The trip will take place on Friday March 7th. We will leave around 8:30 am and return to school around 6:00 pm. The students will have the opportunity to engage with interactive exhibits, view fascinating displays of fossils, ancient artifacts, and learn about the natural world through hands-on experiences. Students will have the option to pay extra to see a planetarium show, visit the live butterfly exhibit, and see the museum's new Elephant exhibit. Tickets are not refundable. The 6th grade class is planning to take a trip to the Franklin Institute in order to see exhibits that reflect on what they are being taught in Science this year. These exhibits include an interactive tour through the Human Heart, connections of synapses and brain activity, sports science, planetary systems, engineering feats, the mechanisms of airplanes and steam engines, the flow of electricity, and much more. Included in this trip is a display of various chemical reactions that cause explosions and combustions. After the trip, the students will be heading back to the school, where they will eat lunch and enjoy a movie in the theatre to end their day. Deadline to buy is January 7th.

On Monday, May 23rd our 8th Grade Science Students have the opportunity to participate in a
field trip to the Philadelphia Zoo. During the field trip, students will tour the Zoo and participate
in a fun Scavenger Hunt. Students will depart PPACS at 9:00am and return around 2:00pm.
Students must either bring their own lunch, purchase lunch at the zoo, or will be given a school
bagged lunch. Students must bring a mask. Students may also bring money for the gift shop if desired.
