Moliere's Learned Ladies takes place during the Salon movement in 17th Century France, when women who were thirsty for knowledge and freedom began to read, discuss and absorb intellectual thought. Henriette and Lycandre are two young people in love who, in order to marry, must successfully navigate Henriett's demanding, pretentious and over-educated family.
