About

Come join us as we explore and learn about the hard rock mining and gold extraction done at the Gold Bug Mine during the California Gold Rush. Our docent-led tour will take us into the mine, the Hendy Stamp Mill, and the blacksmith shop. Students will have the opportunity to try their hand at gem-panning as a part of this field trip experience.

Gold Bug Park offers a nice area with picnic tables, hiking, and nature trails, and the Hattie Museum and Gift Shop. Participants are encouraged to pack a picnic to enjoy some time in the park connecting with others after the tour.

While all grades are welcome, the tour is geared for learners in 3rd grade and up. Per venue policy, children under 4 are not allowed.
