Bone Soup: A Kwanzaa Story
Join us for a special evening dedicated to the rich traditions and principles of Kwanzaa!
This year, we are thrilled to present Bone Soup: A Kwanzaa Story, an inspiring adaptation of Jessica Marie Smith’s play. Experience the talents of our music, dance, and theater students alongside special guests in a performance that embodies the spirit of Kwanzaa.
The evening will also feature a traditional Kinara candle lighting ceremony, celebrating the foundational values of unity, self-determination, collective work, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith.

Start the festivities early at 6:00pm with a pre-show workshop led by renowned Bronx-based artist Amurá.
Hosted by Mind-Builders' Dr. Beverly J. Robinson Folk Culture Program, this interactive session will explore the principle of Kuumba (creativity) through creative board and card games. This workshop is suitable for ages 9+, RSVP is required due to limited capacity.
