About

Bring your own science experiment or research presentation to share with others! Please note that this Science Fair is NOT a contest, but a school-wide event where we get to showcase our student scientists. There will be participation awards for all and feedback on the projects from Cottonwood teachers.

Additionally, there will be a Science Curriculum table that will showcase all the amazing resources we offer through the Lending Library. There will be a Science Experiment demonstration table, with take-home Science Experiment ideas, for the scientists who would like to continue their science exploration at home. Presenters will have time to visit these stations throughout the Science Fair.

Family-friendly event for all ages. Please make sure to reach through the different categories to ensure that the right ticket was selected for registration.

There are different categories to participate in if you are going to register:

1 ) *Family/Younger Student Science Experiment: This option is best for students in TK-3rd grade OR If you have multiple children and want to collaborate as a family to do 1 project. For a family experiment please register for ONE project and list all of the children who will be participating in that project in the additional information section of the order. This is not a drop-off event, Required Chaperones will register on the order form and must be present for the entire event.

2 ) *Individual Student (grades 4-6): If you are a student in these grades and want to do an individual project, please register in this category. This is not a drop-off event, Required Chaperones will register on the order form and must be present for the entire event.

3 ) **Middle School Student (grades 7-8): If you are a student in these grades and want to do an individual project, please register in this category. This is not a drop-off event, Required Chaperones will register on the order form and must be present for the entire event.

4 ) **High School Student (grades 9-12): If you are a student in these grades and want to do an individual project, please register in this category. This is not a drop-off event, Required Chaperones will register on the order form and must be present for the entire event.

* We recommend that the younger students focus on doing a science experiment by keeping things simple. Please use the guidelines in THIS PACKET (TK-6th grade) to help you. There will be feedback from Cottonwood teachers and peers. You are not required to present your findings, but you are welcome to do that if you choose.

** Middle school and High school students will be held at a higher 'bar' for their experiments/presentations (not graded for a contest but their projects will require more in-depth research, etc). Middle school and high school students will receive feedback from Cottonwood Teachers and peers on their project using THIS PACKET (7-12th grade).
