Criteria to Attend: VHS Students: 2.0 unweighted cumulative GPA, Debt Free, have less than

10 days combined In-School Suspension/Out-of-School Suspension this school year, and

less than 5 unexcused absences and 5 unexcused tardies from 2/3 - 4/1.

ATTENDANCE

• You must be in attendance for all scheduled classes at VHS on Fri., May 2^nd in order to attend.

• Check in will begin around 7:45 pm, please do NOT arrive to the Cultural Center prior to that time.

• Students are required to arrive by 9:30 and MUST remain at the dance 

  until 10:30pm. 

• Parking will be behind the Cultural Center. Police will be monitoring the parking lot. No Loitering. 

• Both you and your date must have a photo ID to check in.

• VHS Student and their guest must check in together.

• Once you leave the dance you will NOT be permitted to re-enter or to linger in the parking lot.

CONDUCT

Prom is a function of Vanguard High School and is subject to all school rules and regulations.

• Drinking alcoholic beverages or evidence of drinking will not be tolerated.

Any student or date attending the Vanguard High School Prom is subject to being tested for alcohol by use of the AlcoBlow upon reasonable suspicion.

• Smoking/vaping or any form of tobacco is not permitted on property grounds.
• Contraband items (including drugs and vaping devices) are not permitted at school events. Students and their belongings are subject to being searched.
• Dancing should be appropriate for a school function. Club dancing is not considered appropriate.

Please represent Vanguard High School in an appropriate manner.

•  Remember, you are guests of the CULTURAL CENTER; have respect for the facility & leave it as you found it.
•  Loitering in the parking lot is NOT permitted. Law enforcement will be on duty.

ATTIRE (Administration reserves the right to make final decision on dress code).

PROM is a formal occasion and you are expected to dress accordingly.

• BOYS: Tuxedos or suits are appropriate. Dress shirt with a tie/bowtie is required for entrance. No denim “jean” material will be acceptable. Shirt must remain buttoned at all times. Closed toed shoes required.

• GIRLS: DRESSES SHOULD BE HIGH SCHOOL AGE APPROPRIATE.

                      Formal dresses are required. No mini dresses above mid-thigh will be accepted.

                          Tea length or floor length dresses should be worn.

  NO visible skin should be shown through the bodice of the dress.

  Showing excessive cleavage will not be accepted.

  Back of dress may be open but not cut lower than just below waist in the back.

  Two-piece dresses must meet so that mid-riff is NOT exposed.

  Strapless dresses must be secured.

  Dress pants and blouse/dress shirt are also acceptable.

PURSE/SHOES MAY BE CHECKED IN AND CHECKED OUT WHEN LEAVING

Vanguard is NOT responsible for any personal items lost during Prom.
